Tickets for 2nd Australian International Chopin Piano Competition

Dear Chopin Lovers
Put the 15 – 21 September 2014 into your diaries because during that week – morning, noon and night – we will be feasting on Chopin’s music being performed by fifteen of the world’s most talented young pianists. From Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine. These young pianists will be competing at the 2nd Australian International Chopin Piano Competition, being held at the Australian National University School of Music in Canberra.
The program for this musical feast is as follows:
16–17 September                   Heats (Rounds 1 and 2) (Compulsory two rounds)
18 September                          Master classes for under 18 year olds
19 September                          Semi-final (Round 3) (6 competitors)
20 September                          Pleyel Day — a showcase of the ANU School of Music’s 1847 Pleyel piano
featuring a lecture with chamber music accompaniment and a recital by jury member Professor Wojciech Switala. The Pleyel was Chopin’s piano of choice.
21 September                         Final (Round 4) (3 competitors); Prize Winners’ ceremony; Prize Winners’
                                                      Concert
Along with Chopin, the competitors will also be performing some works by Debussy, Szymanowski, and music from Australian composers Carl Vine and Anthony Bosicevic. Anthony won the Composition component of the Piano Competition with his piece Dan Gnjeva, based on Chopin’s 2nd Prelude in A minor.
